Mobile’s Professional Connection

By Joey Warner

There are 140 baseball players listed that have represented Mobile on the professional level.  There is no way I can research everyone without knowing the players’ names that I have missed.  If you have information on players that are not listed, please contact Joey Warner at 251-604-7387 or email me at wjtaw@aol.com or joey@sportsreports.biz.  Also, comments or disputes are welcomed to be brought to my attention.

Mobile’s Baseball Greats (14)

Mobile has a tradition in baseball as historical as any City in the United States.  There are so many great players that have lived the dream of making it to the major leagues and the Port City and surrounding area can claim as their own; even though some were not delivered in our local hospitals.

Hank and Tommie Aaron, Willie McCovey, Billy Williams, Amos Otis, Cleon Jones, Tommie Agee, Ozzie Smith, Satchell Paige, Bernie Carbo, Frank and Milt Bolling, Jim Mason and Dave Stapleton can be listed as SportsReports All-Stars.

Boxscore Favorites (9)

Many more Jags have done wonders in the big leagues and will always be remembered and some are still making the big bucks on major league rosters.  Luis Gonzalez, Lance Johnson, Jon Leiber, Turner Ward, Marlon Anderson, Adam Lind, Juan Pierre are legends that strengthen Mobile’s Major League connection while P. J. Walters and David Freese made their debuts at the ‘big show’ this season
